Our executive coaching service is tailored to support leaders who desire to be better at leading in a multiracial culture by providing the privacy of a 1-1 coaching relationship that can span 3 months, 6 months or longer.

Leadership is a public act and there are times when a private setting allows the executive to learn and practice new thought habits and behaviors before taking them out for a spin.

Each of us at CPL has learned to build these muscles over time, equipping us to guide executives on their learning journey with a steady hand and plenty of humor, candor and compassion.

How We Coach

Our coaching approach is built on three primary elements:

1. We create a safe and comfortable space to allow for the development of a sacred relationship between ourselves and the client.

This relationship provides the container for the client to explore his/her understanding of their racial identity, how they make meaning of their world, what they want to achieve and how they fulfill their purpose. We intentionally build trust over time in authentic, respectful and meaningful ways in order to invite and provoke the client’s learning.

2. By being fully present, deeply listening, observing, asking powerful empowering questions, and sometimes sharing our own experiences, we help the client get a clearer picture of themselves and their goals.

3. Within this container, the client reflects on their stories, beliefs and behaviors around leading as it pertains to race and/or other leadership challenges. Together we craft an approach that stimulates the client to try new practices and thought habits that propel the client to a higher level of authentic leadership and results that matter most.
